We believe a new neighbourhood shopping centre will be a great asset to the local community. The centre would not only provide convenient shopping options and increased shopper choice, but would also support the town’s growth, create jobs and promote sustainable practices
The new centre
will provide:

Convenient shopping
The new centre will provide a state-of-the-art Woolworths grocery store, as well as a range of specialty retailers and services, all under one roof. The new Woolworths store will also be designed to support a drive-through “Direct to Boot” facility where customers can collect online grocery orders without leaving their car.

Local jobs
The construction of the new centre will create job opportunities for local residents, and once open, will provide ongoing employment opportunities. The Woolworths store will provide opportunities across a variety of roles including customer service, administration, and management, and opportunities across specialty stores may include retail, food service, and other skilled roles.

Improved traffic and safety
The project includes creating a new signalised intersection at Argyle and Valetta Streets. This will provide an additional safe pedestrian crossing point at the northern end of the town centre and will improve traffic flow along Argyle Street – creating gaps in traffic flow and improved operation of the Argyle Street/Suttor Road roundabout.

More choice and competitive prices
The new centre will offer a wider range of local fresh produce and greater choice of specialty shops to meet the diverse needs and preferences of the local community. The new Woolworths store will offer competitive pricing on a range of products, helping customers save money and stretch their budgets further.

Improved accessibility
The new centre will be easily accessible, with ample parking and facilities for people with disabilities, making it a more inclusive and welcoming space for all.
